Value Proposition For The Luxury Market
Quality over Quantity. It is a statement that I emphasize to my clients when discussing how to invest. The luxury market is strong and over time will always increase.
I like attractive, high-end condos and I love great value. The most important message I have for you is that it’s not expensive to buy luxury anymore. If you compare the current market rates, you will see that many ‘regular’ condos are selling for over $800/ft. Luxury condos are selling for $900/ft. The price gap is only $100 difference! Many units are selling for over $800/ft at ‘regular’ buildings like 8 Mercer, Peter Street condos, Charlie condos and King-Charlotte condos.
My recommendation – Spend a little bit more and you are in the luxury market at $900/ft. If you have the capital, it is better to invest in a higher-end product for long-term growth. High floor units in luxury condos are fetching $1200 or more. I believe this is only the beginning for this segment of the market and I predict very strong price growth over the next several years.
